welcome to my Hey!Say!JUMP shrine!!

(this shrine is still under construction!! not sure what im adding to it yet)

hey!say!jump is an eight (formerly ten, then nine) member jpop idol group under starto entertainment (formerly johnny's entertainment.)

the group was founded in 2007 and their first single, ultra music power, was chosen as the theme song for the 2007 volleyball world cup in japan. at their debut, they were the largest group in the history of starto entertainment.

blah blah blah

i was 12 years old when i ordered an idol magazine from a website called jbox, which back then was the place to go for japanese stuff. i wanted the magazine because it promised a feature from KAT-TUN, another group i really loved-- but on the sweltering june day when i retrieved the warm magazine from the mail box, i started falling head over heels for the group on the cover-- that group being Hey!Say!JUMP.

honestly, it all kinda snowballed after that. i began following them seriously, purchasing CDs, buying more magazines, and hanging in livejournal communities where people shared lyric translations or rips of CDs or scans of magazines. we all dreamed of seeing them live one day-- but you had to be a part of the starto fanclub-- which required a japanese permanent address-- to lottery for tickets. i still hope to make it to japan one day and see them in concert.

in short, HSJ has really kind of followed me through everything. they followed me through middle school (i curled up on the bus and listened to them on my ipod when people were bullying me), high school (i made youtube videos about them), college (i put one of their posters on the wall of my first dorm), and up until now (i'm writing this shrine.) they truly mean the world to me.
